CHEM 232BLCourse Description
Organic Chemistry I provides a comprehensive study of the chemistry of carbon compounds. This course is for students pursuing an academic transfer degree in chemistry, biology, or chemical engineering as well as for medical pre-professional students. The course is offered as three modules, all of which must be completed to transfer as a semester-length course. The topics include the structure and properties of carbon compounds; the classification of organic molecules by functional groups; and the structure, properties, reactions, and stereochemistry of alkanes. Beginning 14/FA, students registering for this course must also register for CHEM 232BL which is the laboratory component of the course.
