CHEM 233BLCourse Description
Organic Chemistry II provides a comprehensive study of the chemistry of carbon compounds. This course is for students pursuing an academic transfer degree in chemistry, biology, or chemical engineering as well as for medical pre-professional students. The course is offered as three modules, all of which must be completed to transfer as a semester-length course. The topics include the structure, properties, and reactions of carbonyl compounds (aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, and their derivatives) and nitrogen-containing organic compounds, including mechanism and stereochemistry. Beginning 14/FA, students registering for this course must also register for CHEM 233B which is the laboratory component of the course.
