Prerequisite

(1) Within two years prior to beginning the course, either successful completion of MATH 0931 or MATH 0960 with a grade of P; or instructor approval for those with MATH 0931 or MATH 0960 placement scores for selected online sections of MATH 1310 - must be completed prior to taking this course.

Course Description

This course extends basic algebra skills and provides the background necessary for further mathematics courses. Topics included are: absolute value, linear, quadratic, polynomial, radical, and rational equations; absolute value and linear inequalities; systems of linear equations and inequalities; polynomial factoring; simplifying rational and radical expressions; complex numbers; and graphs of linear, quadratic and absolute value functions.
